It really started with...

Janet Stevens

Fifteen years ago, Janet Stevens asked her sister Susan to help write a story involving shoes and a mouse. "Shoe Town" was the beginning of a collaboration that has bridged the many miles between Fort Worth and Boulder, Colorado, Janet's home. As sisters, they share the same sense of humor and enjoy the many hours they spend creating stories to make children and adults laugh. Susan has partnered up with her co-author and illustrator sister, Janet Stevens, to create lovable, likelife characters. The family dog inspired their dog characters and their older brother Jack is the "Jack-of-all-trades" character in The Dish Ran Away With the Spoon. What a great team! Janet is also an award winner on her own. She has a Caldecott Honor Medal for her illustrations in Tops and Bottoms.

Co-Creator of Ten-Gallon Bart, All In One Hour, Sherlock Bones and the Missing Cheese, and City Dog, Country Dog - Meet Cut Paper Artist, Dorothy Donohue
