Testable Question- How does the type of circuit affect the strand of Christmas Lights with a burned bulb?
IV- Type of Circuit
DV-Number of bulbs lighting
Hypothesis- If the Christmas lights are arranged in a parallel circuit, then when one bulb bursts the other bulbs will still light up.
Observations
I noticed that this circuit produces a lot of light. It also just need one battery to operate all three of the bulbs.
Observations
I noticed that with the parallel circuit, it will still light up even with one bulb missing. The other bulbs are just as bright as they were with the three bulbs.
Hypothesis-If the Christmas lights are arranged in a series circuit then, when one bulb is removed the other bulbs won't light up.
Observations
This circuit is slower, and releases less light when plugged in.
Observations
When one bulb is removed, all the other lights don't light up.
Parallel Circuit
A parallel circuit is the best series to use for Christmas Lights because when one blub is removed, it still lights up. If one of the bulbs breaks, or is removed the rest of the lights will still light up. Unlike a series circuit where is one bulb is removed or broken, the other bulbs will not light up. So a parallel circuit should be used for the Christmas Lights
