Season of Service 2016
A Final Season to Build School Partnerships
It's that time again: The region's 5th and final Season of Service is launching in just 12 days! We have seen great efforts in our region's past four Seasons of Service! The results have been over 170 churches completing over 400 projects and mobilizing over 7,000 volunteers to serve in 25 communities in the Sacramento region. Because we believe a specific season dedicated to service really does increase collaborative compassion in our communities, we are launching another season, but this time with a special emphasis: churches building partnerships with local schools [why school partnerships?]
This year's Season of Service will run from January 16th - April 23rd 2016 and we are asking churches to think, pray and act on building relationships with schools, serving the needs of the school principals and impacting families that attend these schools in positive ways. The season will culminate with a weekend to weekend service blitz from April 16th-23rd called Serve Our Schools. We are so excited to see what comes out of this final Season of Service and in the compassionate engagement of our local schools.
Will you join us this season?

Since September 2015, volunteers have been completing improvement projects for homeowners throughout the city such as painting homes, building fences, helping out with yardwork, and other similar work for homeowners throughout the city. Stories of Service: Christmas to the Streets
The following article was written by Union Gospel Mission in Sacramento, a ministry that provides the urban poor with clothing, food, shelter, spiritual training and a recovery program all in a Christ centered environment.
Christmas to the Streets is an annual event that provides a “Street Fair” atmosphere for the poor and homeless in the Sacramento area. This totally free event was a great blessing for our guests. They were welcomed with gift bags with many needed items and warm smiles. They then had free services provided by the many volunteers that served. Haircuts, Hygiene and a huge clothing room were just some of the choices. They were also provided with treats like Nachos, Popcorn, Coffee and drinks and a free concert by local Christian Bands.
