Progress Reports 9/17

Progress reports for the first nine weeks came home today. This will give you an update on how your child is doing before the nine weeks ends on October 22nd. They were sent home with K-1 students, and they are being uploaded into Ascender for those in grades 2-4 (titled Cycle Grades).

In the future:

K-1 will still have hard copy skills checklist reports

2-4 will simply be uploaded into Ascender

Here is how to access your 2nd-4th grade child's grade report in Ascender.

  • Login to Ascender
  • Look on the left for Grades
  • Select Cycle Grades

Curriculum Night is coming September 23!

Curriculum Night will be in person this year. This will be with the grade level teachers, where the teachers will share about what we teach and how. There will also be information from the specials teachers.

Save the Dates:

6:30-7:00pm = Kindergarten in the power plant

6:30-7:00pm = First Grade in the auditorium

7:15-7:45pm = Second Grade in the power plant

7:15-7:45pm = Third Grade in the auditorium

8:00-8:30pm = Fourth Grade in the auditorium

We will be entering the doors where we drop off and pickup. When your session is finished there will be specific exits as well. There will be no time to meet with the teacher individually or ask questions. If your questions are not answered during the session you can email your teacher and/or set up a conference with them.

Coming Soon! Fundraising for TeamConnor & Pink/Green Out Day

Each year, we partner with TeamConnor to raise money to support children in our area suffering with cancer. All of the money raised goes directly to TeamConnor; none of it is for LPS. Giving is all done online so you don't have to send any money to school.

The giving window will be Monday the 27th - Friday October 1st, so watch for how to give to your child's grade level as we set goals for each grade.

Then to show our support, on Friday the 1st, we have a Pink and/or Green Out day. (Pink is a traditional color for breast cancer support and green is the color for TeamConnor). Students will get to wear as much pink and/or green as possible that day to school in person or online. They can wear socks, shoes, pants, shirts, glasses, wigs, etc. The only rule for elementary is no hair coloring or face paint (this rule applies to any special dress day; we save those privileges for the older kids so they have something to look forward to.)

Want to have lunch with your student

We are ready to have parents back in the building. One way is to come and enjoy lunch with your student. We would love to see you on campus!

Chaperone Background Checks

Each year, we need to complete a background check on parents who would like to come and serve at the school or chaperone students in any way. Do this as soon as possible to not delay you attending any field trips or being able to help out in your child's classroom. Please follow this link to complete the form for this year.

We are working closely with our PTO for how you can assist the teacher throughout the day and week. More information to come.
