STUDENT'S HOST LUNCHEON

STUDENT HOSTED STAFF APPRECIATION LUNCH ON MAY 13TH

Students in Ms. Romano’s Intro to Culinary Arts 8 and Family & Consumer Science 7 honored teachers and staff at Brooklyn Middle STEAM School on Thursday, May 13, by planning and preparing a scratch-made lunch to say “thank you” for their dedication to education this year.

The seventh and eighth graders took a day to plan a thoughtful menu, keeping in mind overall nutrition and dietary needs of staff. They delighted staff with selections of seasoned grilled chicken, penne, vegan quinoa mushroom casserole and “meatballs,” scratch-made Alfredo sauce, a creamy mushroom sauce, seasoned potato wedges, cauliflower Mac and cheese, a zoodle and tofu stir-fry with Sambal, several types of fruit salads, Greek salad with a homemade Greek vinaigrette.

It wouldn’t be a celebration without dessert! Students prepared red-velvet cake pops, decorated a “Thank you” chocolate chip cookie cake, brownies and several types of cookies including a caramel kiss cookie and snickerdoodles.

Students were beaming with pride as was Ms. Romano for a (tasty) job well done!
