Family Update 02.13.22
A Message from the Principal
Greetings Holly Hall Families,
We have several events scheduled, including Awards Assemblies, in the next few weeks. We are excited to have our family join us (finally) back in the building for in person connections. Our Family Night, scheduled for March 1st, is going to have amazing prizes including several organizations providing summer camp gift certificates. Make sure you sign up ahead of time, the order for books for One Book, One School, One Family will be going in this week to ensure they arrive this time. We want to make sure you get your book! This will be fun!!!
On another note, report cards went home on Tuesday via email. If you would like to schedule a conference to discuss your child's progress please contact their homeroom teacher. Our team would love to have your involvement.
Enjoy and have a fabulous week,
Ms. Lowe

AVID Focus: Having An AVID Mindset
Cornell Notes are a proven focused note-taking method. When used appropriately, students are guaranteed to increase their knowledge and raise their grades in any given class! Cornell Notes are taken during class discussions, class power points, class readings, or movies in which students are responsible for the information. Cornell Notes have several important characteristics:
- Full heading
- Specific topic
- Notes in the right side highlighted with key words or phrases
- Main ideas and high level questions in the left column
- A summary at the end of the notes
Students use the Cornell Note format and repetition strategies and review notes regularly.
