Congratulations on your acceptance to the APS/MRESA Reading Endorsement Program for 2015!

The Endorsement is divided into three courses consisting of 5 Professional Learning Units each. The courses will be offered outside of the instructional day on Thursdays from 4:30pm to 9:30pm. Up to 30% of the content for each course will be delivered online. A more detailed schedule and syllabus will be provided on the first day of class.

Course Start and End Dates

Course I - December 18, 2014 - February 12, 2015

Course II - February 19, 2015 - April 2, 2015

Course III - April 16, 2015 - May 28, 2015

Due before December 18, 2014. In order to receive credit you must upload your Georgia Teaching Certificate to your MRESA profile that you created during the application process.

Required Texts

We will provide full funding for the APS Reading Endorsement Program (covering the cost of tuition and Georgia Professional Standards Commission processing fees). Each candidate is responsible for purchasing his/her required texts:

Course 1: Literacy for the 21st Century: A Balanced Approach (6th edition) (Tompkins)

Course 2: Qualitative Reading Inventory (Leslie & Caldwell) & Assessment for Reading Instruction (McKenna & Stahl)

Course 3: Teaching Reading in Social Studies, Science, and Math (Laura Robb)
