What is a participial?
A word formed from a verb and used as an adjective or a noun. In English, participles are also used to make compound verb forms.
Examples
- The injured man was waiting for the doctor.
- The tired percussionist stayed up all night practicing for his performance.
- The crazy woman was waiting for her turn to go on stage.
- The worried child sat up waiting for his mother to come home from work.
- The broken window was hard to fix.
