Dr. Khalsa is the Director of Research for the Kundalini Research Institute, Research Director of the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health and an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. For over 10 years he has been conducting research on the efficacy of yoga and meditation practices, including evaluation of yoga for insomnia, addiction, back pain, depression, anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, chronic stress and mental health in public schools. He has also practiced a yoga lifestyle for over 35 years, is a Kundalini Yoga instructor, and directs an elective course at Harvard Medical School in Mind-Body Medicine.

Cure Panel Host: Sharib Khan, Co-founder and Product Lead Applied Informatics, Inc. (TrialX)

Sharib Khan is a tech visionary at Applied Informatics, an award winning Healthcare Information Technology startup in New York City. He led the conceptualization of the company’s flagship product,, a leading platform to connect patients to clinical trial investigators. As a Biomedical Informatics Researcher at Columbia University, he worked on several federally funded research projects. He can often be spotted as the “headstand guy”, doing his favorite yoga poses somewhere.

Krishna Kaur

Krishna Kaur is certified by the 3HO Foundation and the Kundalini Research Institute as a Kundalini Yoga Teacher and Trainer of both Level I and II. Krishna also founded and runs Y.O.G.A. for Youth, a non-profit dedicated to training yoga teachers to work with at-risk youth and creating yoga programs in schools and juvenile facilities. A master teacher trainer of Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan, she conducts workshops in Canada, Europe, and Latin America.

Char Grossman

Char Grossman is professionally recognized as a Therapeutic Yoga Specialist, Special Education Intervention Teacher, and a Nationally Certified School Psychologist. She is an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT 500) with Yoga Alliance. Char has obtained professional training at Duke Integrative Medicine in Yoga Awareness for Cancer, and completed MD Anderson Integrative Medicine Program’s Oncology Training Conference. In 2004, Char founded YogaReach (, a therapeutic yoga program that inspires individuals of all ages and abilities to develop educational, physical, mental and social competencies. Currently, Char presents and teaches workshops at hospitals, and community centers, for those challenged with Movement Disorders. She specifically has extensive knowledge to work with Stroke Survivors and those diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease.

Micheline Toussaint

Micheline Toussaint, LCSW, RYT, is an Oncology Counselor at Life with Cancer. In addition to being a licensed clinical social worker, she is a registered Yoga teacher and a certified End-of-Life Counselor at Life with Cancer where she provides individuals, couples and family counseling for cancer patients and their loved ones. She helped develop a 6-week Mind-Body education series, leads yoga and meditation classes for patients and caregivers, facilitates support groups, and speaks to community groups about issues related to cancer. Micheline has a particular interest in using mind-body practices to strengthen resiliency in cancer patients and their caregivers.
