End of Year Testing Approaches - Proctor Volunteers Needed

We always appreciate the readiness that our community shows to support our unique, small school program at CIS! Testing provides many challenges, and we are asking for volunteers to support us. Below is a link to SIGN-UP GENIUS - thank you in advance for the generous donation of your time.

Greatest Appreciation - Ms. Reynolds, Secondary Principal

Student Representative NYLSC - in her own words...

My experience at the N.Y.L.S.C

At the National Young Leaders State Conference my experience was amazing. I improved on leaderships skills and identified my strengths and weaknesses. Every day we had leadership development meetings and completed various activities related to each skill. In these meetings, they taught us how to use the five leadership skills which were collaboration, creativity, goal setting, critical thinking, and communication and how to apply these skills to everyday life. During the conference, I had made great life-long friends that I thought I would never had made, if I had not attended this program. I enjoyed my time at the conference and I feel more confident as a leader.

Teacher Appreciation Week is this coming week!

Please take a moment and share your gratitude with your teachers. They work very hard to ensure that students are motivated and able to learn lots of information in a school year.

PTSO is organizing events, too, to show our collective gratitude to our teachers.

Please look iin the PTSO Newletter for more information.

Tutoring Supports at CIS

Teacher Office Hours - Our teachers do provide times during LUNCH and HOMEROOM to support student understanding around content. Please find attached the revised/updated Teacher Office Hours and Days below. We thank them for this added level of support to our CIS Students and Families.

Morning and Afternoon Tutoring Sessions: Students must be accompanied by a staff person at all times while on campus. Students and families should confirm with teachers his/her intention of attending a tutoring time. If these protocols are not followed, students will be escorted to Before or After school, and families will be charged a fee.

MAP Testing continues Tuesday and Thursday of this coming week. MAP Student Goal Sheets will be sent home with students on Monday, May 11th.
