What is PVAA MS?

PVAA is a summer enrichment program for passionate middle school artists (current grades 5 to 7) that want to grow and develop their creative skills in a rigorous environment with other dedicated art students. It is taught by members of the award-winning PISD Visual Arts Staff. Instruction has been designed to be unique, engaging, and correspond with an overarching skill each week. Students will explore techniques and mediums using big ideas to guide their artistic investigations.

PVAA - Middle School

Monday, June 5th, 7:45am to Thursday, June 22nd, 11:45am

PVAA is offered at three middle school campuses in Plano ISD.

PVAA runs from June 5 to June 22, 2022 (Monday - Thursday).


June 19th will be a student/staff holiday in observance of Juneteenth.


PVAA starts at 7:45 am each morning and ends at 11:45 pm


If a student has a preplanned trip but would like to attend, they can still sign up; however, the cost of PVAA can not be pro-rated due to absences.

Overview of the three weeks

Overview of the three weeks

Week One - June 5 to 8 will focus on sculpture/ceramics.


Week Two - June 12 to 15 will focus on printmaking.


Week Three - June 20 -22 will focus on painting.


Woven throughout the three weeks will be drawing instruction and the creative process.


On June 22nd PVAA will close out with small student-curated and created exhibits.

We encourage serious art students with a drive and passion for creating in a variety of media to consider signing up. If you are unsure if this program is right for your student please reach out to their art teacher to discuss.


Sign-up on each campus is limited to 100 students.


A google form will be used to pre-register in order to take students on a first come first serve basis. This form will open on Wednesday, February 15th at noon, after you pre-register you will be notified about how to complete the registration via email. You will be able to locate the google form on the Summer School Webpage (linked here)


If the students are in the first 100 to sign up on the google form they will be notified after March 1st regarding how to complete the registration process and pay the $300.00 fee to attend.

All registration closes either when seats are filled on each campus or on March 31, 2023 whichever comes first.
