A Message from the Principal...
Dear friends,
You may have heard that this past Thursday the Board of Education passed a resolution authorizing it to move forward with placing a school bond initiative on the March 2020 ballot. As I mentioned previously, if it passes, the measure would bring about several campus improvements to Twin Peaks. While you may be inclined to want to campaign on behalf of the bond, you should know as employees of a publicly-funded school system, we are limited in how and when we are able to advocate for the initiative. Click here for some dos and don'ts provided by the district.
Have a great week!

Academic Hallo-Win Challenge
Two weeks before the end of the grading period, counselors invited a number of 6th & 7th grade students to take the first ever “Academic Hallo-WIN Challenge”. The challenge offered the students who attended an information session the opportunity to join a team of other motivated rams to discuss the importance of successful study habits and set S.M.A.R.T. goals to improve their grades, in exchange for their perseverance to end the grading period with all passing grades & earn a special double lunch on Halloween day!
35 students were invited, 24 students attended and overall, 12 students improved their grades (50% improved!) with 5 of them successfully completing the Hallo-WIN challenge earning passing grades and a double lunch (21% met their goals!)
Students expressed enjoying the extra motivation and appreciating the extra push. Our TPMS school counselors have also started to collaborate with the ASES staff to plan similar opportunities/ support & plan to continue these grading period challenges (“Let it Snow WINNtER Grades?!”) to help other students achieve their academic potential in another engaging way. Stay tuned!

Double Lunch
We continue to receive reports from staff of students being given double lunches and/or being released early. This is not permissible without administrator permission, as it poses safety concerns. Please be sure to take attendance during Ram and notify the assistant principals of students who are not showing up on a regular basis. We can follow up with them. Thank you!
