District Newsletter

Title I Informational Newsletter February 2022

Did you know that you can request a meeting with your child's teacher at anytime?

As a Title I school you are allowed to request a conference with your child's teacher at any time. We hope that you are participating in your schools curriculum nights. This is an opportunity for you to learn how your child is doing on their benchmark tests and ways to enrich their learning. If you take part in these nights you will learn what would be discussed in a conference. If you have any concerns about your child's social behavior or academics our teachers are always available to speak with you.

Parents are welcomed in our buildings

We do ask that you stay in the Parent Resource Room. We are still trying to limit contact with teachers and students. Ask your school PIC about volunteer times. They will be happy to assist you in finding a day and time that will work for everyone's schedule.

Spring Survey

Your schools PIC will be sending home our annual Spring Survey. We would greatly appreciate you filling it out. It helps us to make changes in our program and acts as a voice for your child. We value your thoughts and want to make our Title I programs the best they can be!

DAC-District Advisory Council

Our DAC meeting this year will be held virtually in April. Be on the look out for an invitation to attend the Google meet. We will review our District's Spring Survey results and get input on our District policy. If you are interested in attending, let your PIC know.

PIC me! PIC me!

This newsletter I want to highlight Tracy Wilson at RPS and Cathy Cooper at RES. These two PICS have started the FAST programs at both of their schools! They have worked together along with their academic coaches and principals to educate the parents on their child's academic progress. They are a great team and want the best for their students and parents. They have worked relentlessly to make this happen. They are in the process of planning their next FAST meetings! Make sure you go to the meetings and see what they have done for you and your child. Way to go Ladies! You are making a huge difference for your schools and our county!
Big picture

Reading is FUN!

Encourage your child to read and take time to read with them. Here are a few questions to get the conversation going!

  • Do you relate to any of the characters in your book? Do you share any common traits?
  • How would you change the ending of the story?
  • If you could add another character to the story what would they be like? Describe them.
  • What did you find interesting about the setting (where the story takes place)? How did it impact the story?
District Policy

You can also find our District policy and other important information on your school's website. We value any input into our policy. You can email me, Kristy Jablonski or Regina Bacon.
