Title I Informational Newsletter February 2022
Did you know that you can request a meeting with your child's teacher at anytime?
As a Title I school you are allowed to request a conference with your child's teacher at any time. We hope that you are participating in your schools curriculum nights. This is an opportunity for you to learn how your child is doing on their benchmark tests and ways to enrich their learning. If you take part in these nights you will learn what would be discussed in a conference. If you have any concerns about your child's social behavior or academics our teachers are always available to speak with you.
DAC-District Advisory Council
Our DAC meeting this year will be held virtually in April. Be on the look out for an invitation to attend the Google meet. We will review our District's Spring Survey results and get input on our District policy. If you are interested in attending, let your PIC know.
PIC me! PIC me!
This newsletter I want to highlight Tracy Wilson at RPS and Cathy Cooper at RES. These two PICS have started the FAST programs at both of their schools! They have worked together along with their academic coaches and principals to educate the parents on their child's academic progress. They are a great team and want the best for their students and parents. They have worked relentlessly to make this happen. They are in the process of planning their next FAST meetings! Make sure you go to the meetings and see what they have done for you and your child. Way to go Ladies! You are making a huge difference for your schools and our county!
Reading is FUN!
Encourage your child to read and take time to read with them. Here are a few questions to get the conversation going!
- Do you relate to any of the characters in your book? Do you share any common traits?
- How would you change the ending of the story?
- If you could add another character to the story what would they be like? Describe them.
- What did you find interesting about the setting (where the story takes place)? How did it impact the story?
