eLearning for Inclement Weather
Guidelines for K-5 Teachers
Celebrate Flexible Learning!
- Think outside of traditional school hours. Be ok students completing work at night or early morning!
- Remember that not all students will be completing eLearning assignments from their home. Students might be engaging in eLearning at daycare, the public library, or in the home of a neighbor or relative.
Encourage students to make contact for assignment clarification instead of parents on students’ behalf. The Canvas Inbox is great for this!
Design learning experiences with accessibility in mind. Run the Canvas Accessibility Checker. Record video or audio directions when possible.
But they don't bring their devices home?
- Consider web-based learning experiences that will work across personal phones, tablets, and home computers. Example: BrainPop + BrainPop Jr
- Give students a window of time to submit evidence of work.
- Assign a combination of online and offline learning experiences.
Let's keep the e in eLearning!

Friendly reminders about Seesaw...
- We have enabled the trusted IP addresses feature in Seesaw. Student will not be able to see other students' work when not in a Noblesville building.
- Students cannot post work through the Family app. Families will need to download the Class app in addition to the Family app if using a mobile device.
- Students can access Seesaw through Clever. If the student is on a mobile device, Clever will "kick them over" to the app. The mobile device will need to have the app on it. If a student accesses Seesaw through Clever on a desktop or laptop, the student can post work to Seesaw through the internet browser.
- Students can always use their Google credentials to log into Seesaw. See screenshot to the left.
