Normangee ISD Police Department

We are excited to announce that we have formed The Normangee ISD Police Department. On September 17th, after following all application processes and procedures, we were issued our T-COLE Agency Identifying Number. Mr. Walter Dyches will be our Chief of Police effective immediately and will be on campus to serve as our School Resource Officer.

We as a district are so thankful to our board of trustees. They have continued to make providing a safe and secure learning environment for all students and staff a priority.

District Safety and Security Committee

The District is looking for a few parents or guardians who would be interested in serving on the District School Safety and Security Committee. This committee will meet three times a year and be tasked with items like developing and refining emergency operations plans, assessing and reviewing safety and security audits and making recommendations related to safety and security to the board of trustees when applicable.

If you are interested, please email Kim Greer at kgreer@normangeeisd.org

There are limited spots available so only a few of the interested will be selected to serve on the committee. Thank you for your interest and commitment in helping us provide a safe and secure environment for Normangee ISD.

Counselor's Corner

We are starting the backpack program again this year. If you aren't familiar with it, our High School Youth for Christ students along with several local organizations collect food items and toiletries for our students in need. Student referrals are made by their teacher. This program supports students in need over the weekend by providing additional food and toiletries.

This is a confidential program and student names and participation will remain anonymous. The student simply picks up a backpack on Friday and returns in Monday morning. If you know of a particular student in need, please feel free to contact Mrs. Tesch or the child's teacher.
