Grade 6 Trip Day Two

Easter Egg Hunt!

On Friday the 11th at 12:45 - 1:20 Halcyon will be having an electronic Easter Egg hunt organised by Emily Wilson!! To enter to win the grand prize you must donate £1 to TECHO and download a QR code reader app for your iPad. Hope to see you there!!

Student visitors to Halcyon

Have you noticed how many people are visiting our exciting school? Students looking to apply, educators curious and inspired by what we do, and the list goes on. We need a traffic Warden! In order to avoid our school being too crowded, EVERYONE who visits must have a request to visit from their parents before we can consider giving them permission to visit. Nir makes sure that only people with appointments are allowed in the building. Thank you from Mr. Hedger.

New Student Joining - Grade 8

At the start of Term 3 on Monday 28th of April, Eveline Sanchez-Cuellar will be joining Grade 8! Eveline is originally from Mexico, but has lived in many different places. She currently attends the German School in Mexico City, so speaks fluent, English, Spanish and German! I'm looking for Student Ambassadors who would be willing to make her transition to London and Halcyon as seamless and fun as possible! Can all Grade 8 students report to Ms. Zago's classroom for a bit at 1245!

Thank you! Mia

Reminder: Football Club

There will be no football club next week. The next session will be on Tuesday April 29th after Easter break.

Congratulations to Celia and Charlie S. for both scoring good goals on their debut in the last session!

Upcoming Trip: Grade 8 Speaker's Corner

On Monday, April 7th, the Grade 8 class will be delivering speeches at Speaker's Corner, Marble Arch. These speeches are the culmination of their study into rhetoric over the past two months and range from socio-political discussions to informative speeches on literature, law, and psychology.

Parents are invited to form part of the audience at 11:00am.

April Break Reading:

Big image

All Halcyon Students will receive a text to read over the April Break. These texts are directly connected to their curricula studies, and we encourage parents to assist their child with this reading. The following Scholastic Resource contains some excellent tips on how to engage with your child during reading sessions.

Upon their return to school, all students will complete a short digital book review on our Halcyon Community GoodReads Board. If you have not yet joined our Halcyon GoodReads Community, you may sign up here or, if already a member, connect to our group here.
