SMS Scholastic Book Fair November 14th -November 20th
We are very excited to host a Scholastic Book Fair! The fair will be held during school hours, starting on November 14th and running through November 20th. Additionally, we will be open to the public after school on November 15th from 2:45 pm until 7:00pm.
Students will all have an opportunity to attend the fair with their teams, typically in ELA classes. They can also attend the fair with permission during RISE periods.
You can preview some of the items that will be for sale at the book fair here with this interactive flyer.
Can't make it in person to the book fair? Order online by clicking this link.
Volunteers are always needed to help with this event. Please email your availability to Jennifer Bishop at jbishop@scarboroughschools.org.

Laptop Updates
Only accidental damage is covered by the use fee. Negligence is not covered and includes closing items in the laptop, any damage occurring when a device is left on the floor, etc. If the use fee was not paid at the start of the year damage, whether deemed negligence or accidental, is not covered. For more information, please review the Chromebook Care Guide under Forms in Powerschool.
SMS Nursing Communication
We have recently seen an increase in influenza both in our school as well as in Cumberland County. Some common symptoms of influenza this year include a runny nose, sneezing, sore throat, fever/body aches, and vomiting or diarrhea. Please keep your student home if they are experiencing any of these symptoms to prevent further spread. We also recommend students see their doctor to be tested for the flu if they are feeling ill.
You can visit the CDC website for more information on the flu at https://maineflu.gov/
Contact the nursing clinic if you have any questions or concerns.

Scarborough School Nutrition
If you would like to add money to your student's lunch account for the purchase of any "a la carte" items, you can either send in cash or check with your student, or load money onto their account by visiting the online payment portal Lunch Time.
Also, if you have not done so, please take a moment to complete the Free & Reduced Lunch Form even if you do not believe you would qualify. You may also complete the form online here.
