A Note from the Interim Principal

Dear Families,

As I am sure you have heard by now, Dr. John Shreve will be the Principal at HFCS for the 2016-2017 school year. Dr. Shreve is returning "home" --- to the parish where he currently ministers in numerous ways and to the school where he served as principal from 2006 - 2011, and from which his daughter, Jacie, graduated.

John and I are in frequent communication. We are working together as plans are made for next year so that the transition is smooth and hopefully seamless. I am so happy for Holy Family Catholic School and for John. What an exciting time to be a Hornet!

Blessings,

Veronica Tucker

2016 HFCS Parent Survey

Many thanks to all of you who took the time to complete the survey e-mailed last week. The link is also included below. This information is invaluable in helping us as a school, parish and Advisory Council make plans for the upcoming school year(s). This is most helpful when everyone participates. This survey only takes about 15 minutes. As of today, we are at about 20% overall parent participation. Please complete by this Friday, April 15th. While the survey is anonymous, we are able to see the number of total respondents per grade. Each grade with over 50% participation by April 15th will receive popsicles later this month. Kudos to our parents in 4th and 7th grade. You are already almost over 50% participation! Thank you, in advance, for your help!

Time to Re-enroll!

I know that we are all busy and that re-enrolling might be something you plan to get to soon. However, please know that staffing and other budget decisions are based on our projected enrollment. For this reason, it is critical that you re-enroll soon so that we can move forward. If you need the link to re-enroll sent to you again, please contact Tracy Head at busmgr@hfsfw.org.

April 15th - Regular School Day

THIS Friday is a regular school day. This was originally scheduled as a bad-weather day on the school calendar. This is a make-up day for the day we did not have school in November due to the power outage.

Tech Buzz - Mathletics

Our 1st - 3rd grade students are piloting Mathletics, a web-based Math enrichment program used to supplement the great things happening in the classrooms. The students are really enjoying this fun way to hone their math skills!

HFCS Hosts Diocesan Middle School Dance

Last Friday, our student council, along with moderator Mr. Thrower, organized a Middle School Dance for our students and also invited 6th - 8th graders from Our Lady of Victory, Saint Andrew, Saint George, Saint John and Saint Peter Catholic Schools. Even with some "technical" difficulties, it was a HUGE success! Many thanks to all the parents who helped chaperone. Below is a picture of all the Hornets in attendance. For more pics, please open link below. Thank you to Hilary Boley for being our official photographer!
