Senior Spotlight - Gage Lockhart
Gage Lockhart started in the Brazos River Regional Day School Program as an infant and now he is a graduating senior with high aspirations and a plan to attend Tarleton State University in Stephenville. He enjoys learning about the way things work and is planning to seek a degree in the field of engineering! His favorite class in high school is Culinary and he was recently invited to the National Technical Honor Society. For the past 3 years, Gage has owned his own small business called Gage’s Lawncare. He enjoys volunteering for the city of Mineral Wells and has recently started working at Chicken Express. Taking care of other people is what Gage does best. He is always looking out for other students and finding ways to make everyone smile. This thoughtful, sincere young man is going far!! We are so proud of you, Gage!!!

- Did you know that students who meet certain criteria can apply to have their tuition waived at state-supported, post-secondary schools in Texas?
- One of the programs under the Texas HHSC Office of Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services (ODHHS) is the Certification of Deafness Tuition Waiver (CODTW) program. Learn more about the program in this online session and how the waiver can benefit you!
- The presenter, Rose Aird Minette, is a Communication Access Specialist with ODHHS.
- This webinar is intended for professionals who work with current and prospective students who are deaf or hard of hearing, high school and college students who are deaf or hard of hearing, and parents of deaf and hard of hearing students.

Important Legislative Information- Senate Bill 976: The Samuel Allen Law
Senate Bill 976, also called the Samuel Allen Law, was passed into law on June 10, 2019. Named after and pushed by a Texas A&M-San Antonio graduate with Asperger's syndrome, the bill allows drivers with communication disorders such as deafness, autism, and intellectual disabilities to indicate it on documentation.
If you or someone you know has a disability or a communication difference that could impede effective communication with an officer, please register the vehicle with the Department of Motor Vehicles by completing this FORM.

Casa Manana Children's Theater Performances
Casa Manana Theater in Fort Worth offers School Morning Matinees at 10:30 a.m. With advance notice, sign language interpreters from the Tarrant County College Interpreter Training Program can be provided for these matinees. If your school or program would like to participate, please complete and submit the School Morning Matinee Reservation Form below.
In addition, there will be a public evening performance of each show with sign language interpreters provided. Please see the schedule below.
