We said goodbye to Mrs. Williams, Special Education Teacher. Mrs. Williams was honored for her 32 years of service to Platte County R3 at our school End of Year Celebration. Siegrist Student Attendance Data
This Fall we noticed that the 2019-2020 attendance rate was 91.41% down from the previous year of 95.7%. So we wanted to know more about our data and began to share the daily student attendance rate this spring with all who entered our school. If you walk into Siegrist you will see a sign that shows the average student attendance rate for the day. We then used this information to obtain a monthly student attendance. Here is what average student attendance data looks likes for our Siegrist students this academic school year:
As you can see Siegrist Elementary students are attending at a high rate. We know there are a lot of factors contributing....parents, friends, love of school, teacher...etc. We wanted to share this data with you and say THANK YOU for all you do to support your child(ren) and their attendance at school. The district attendance rate for Siegrist 2020-2021 student attendance is 95.5%. We know that there's a direct student success link between being in attendance and performance at school. These foundational years are so important; we thank you for what you do each and every day for your child and for making school a priority.

Field Day Information
Field Day is just around the corner Monday, May 23 and we will be keeping an eye on the weather. Hopefully it is a warm, sunny day. Your child will need to wear their field day shirt, shorts and tennis shoes. Please no crocs, sandals or boots for safety reasons. Make sure your child has on sunscreen before coming to school, teachers will not be allowed to apply sunscreen. Hats, visors, &/or sunglasses are ok too.
Make sure your child has a water bottle with his/her name clearly written on it. We will have filling stations if needed. Sending an extra set of shoes and clothes to change into after field day is helpful too in case your child gets muddy especially if rain has been in the forecast.
There will only be one school Lunch choice-turkey sandwich or your child may bring a lunch from home. Lunch shifts will not follow the normal schedule so if you signed up online to eat with your child, please check with your classroom teacher what time your child will be eating. Remember there are no spectators allowed at field day this year.
If your child does not have a field day shirt, please have him/her wear a shirt to match the rest of their grade level peers…

May: Military Appreciation Month!
Nation-wide May is considered military appreciation month. In honor of all our Siegrist service members we would like to encourage military families to record their family introducing themselves, sharing what branch of the service they are in, and saying the Pledge of Allegiance. If you have a member of the family serving overseas they could record it too. We will incorporate these recordings into the daily morning announcements throughout the month of May. Recordings can be emailed to Tina Kaiser at kaisert@platteco.k12.mo.us. If you don't have the capability, you can call the front office and set up a time for Mrs. Kaiser to record you saying the pledge as a family. We hope to have lots of submissions and have our military families leading us in the Pledge of Allegiance.
Please call Tina Kaiser or Lori Mann with any questions; 816-858-5977.
We encourage our students to wear patriotic colors on Friday, May 20th. Thank you for helping us celebrate and honor the service and sacrifice of the brave individuals serving in our military.
