AFUMC Weekday Preschool Press
February 2020
Registration Update
Priority registration for the 2020-2021 school year ends on Friday, January 31. Class assignment notifications will be made via e-mail on Friday, February 7th to families who have registered. On this day you will receive an e-mail from Linsey with your child's class placement and also an enrollment agreement. Please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions!
Lunch Bunch Reminders
Remember that we are a nut-free zone and that ALL children that stay for Lunch Bunch MUST be self-sufficient with potty skills, washing hands, and feeding self.
We look forward to more of the 2’s students staying as they are ready and mature for this fun part of our program!
If you have any questions, please contact me by phone, email, or text.

No Balloons Please
Please be aware that latex balloons are one of the leading causes of choking deaths in children under the age of 6.
Accidents involving balloons happen in a few ways. Some children suck balloons into their mouths while trying to inflate them. Others swallow balloons they were sucking or chewing on. Broken balloons pose a serious potential choking hazard because they are easily sucked into the throat and lungs.
Uninflated balloons and pieces of broken balloons are particularly hazardous because of the way they can stretch and mold to a child’s throat, making it impossible to breathe. Balloons are also very hard to remove from a child’s mouth or throat because of their smooth, slippery texture.
Prevention is the best way to keep a child from choking on a balloon. If a balloon breaks, collect the pieces immediately and dispose of them out of the reach of children.
Because the safety of every preschooler is our priority, please do not bring balloons of any kind into preschool. We do not want to take any chances with the safety of all of our children. Thank you so much for your cooperation.
