Hornet Happenings
Families,
The biggest news this week is that BSD is on furlough every Friday. Staff will not be teaching on Fridays for the remainder of the school year. My weekly newsletter will be coming on Thursday evenings. Please know that our conversations this week have revolved around how much we care about your children and how we love being in a classroom, virtual or real, with them.
Kindergarten registration is on! Please share with your neighbors and friends. Our office will be open Wednesdays 8-noon until the end of the school year to support this. Call 503-356-2090 on Wednesday mornings to reach a secretary or drop off/ pick up paperwork.
This video is a great step by step video on how to search for eBooks and Audiobooks in Sora. When searching be sure you click on Errol Hassell. This Video was created by: Jen Blair/BSD library services

One Book One School- From Mrs. Plew
All right Errol Hassell families!
We are ready to start our next five chapters of “ A Boy Called Bat “ Chapters 6-10
I have so enjoyed going on Seesaw and seeing all your answers to the trivia questions. I like to send out a big Thank you to all the fourth graders that have been sending me their answer via email. So hornets here’s your next five chapters. Enjoy! A Boy Called Bat Chapters 6-10 Also remember you can read along with the book which is on Epic.
It's time to order yearbooks!
** FIFTH GRADE FAMILIES**
Since you don't get a traditional send-off this year, the PTO wants to help you celebrate the end of your elementary school years. They have very generously purchased each 5th grader one copy of the yearbook, so please DO NOT place an order unless you are purchasing additional copies beyond the one for your 5th grader.
**EVERYONE ELSE**
For everyone else, since we can't sell yearbooks in person the way we typically do, all yearbook sales will be done online at https://commpe.pictavo.com/
From there, choose "Oregon", "Beaverton", and "Errol Hassell" to reach the ordering page. Yearbooks are $15.75 and will be delivered to the school. We will be setting a day/time where you can pick them up once we know when they'll be delivered.
Yearbooks MUST be pre-ordered this year by May 29th. There will not be any extras available for last minute/in-person sales since they will only print the exact number that are pre-ordered.
5th Grade Send-Off- Saturday, June 13, 11am Please Read!!
Please help get the word out to your neighbors about this event.

Emotional Support Around COVID-19
As Oregon continues to fight the COVID-19 Pandemic, people need help, resources, or just someone to talk to. SafeOregon, the 24/7 statewide school safety tip line, is here for you. We will continue to provide 24/7 services for Oregonians to confidentially report student safety concerns (suicidal ideation/thoughts, cyberbullying, child abuse, drug/alcohol abuse, etc.) and will pass this information to school personnel and law enforcement (when necessary).
We have added additional student and adult crisis line resources to our SafeOregon website.
