In the morning announcements this week, students are learning about the meaning and history of Veterans Day. To honor those who serve and have served our country, students may participate in the Spirit Day as described in the graphic below.

Van Gogh School Photographers will be coming to Lincoln on November 17th for retake and yearbook photos. Students from the categories below will be photographed for the yearbook, and it is optional to purchase pictures. Prepaid Ordering before Picture Retake Day is available online or by phone, and the ordering link is also posted on the Lincoln School website under News & Announcements.

On November 17th, students may wear their uniform or dress out of uniform. If your child will not be dressed in uniform, we recommend that gym shoes are worn for their safety during PE and recess. Additionally, clothing must be not have holes, rips, tears, and fit appropriately.

ABSENTEE & NEW STUDENTS:

If your child was absent on September 28th, or if they arrived as a new student after September 28th, your child can have their photo taken! To place an order, please visit our website at www.ordervgil.com. Select before picture day and enter School Code 20079402.

RETAKE STUDENTS: If you are unhappy with your original photo, please go to the camera on retake day. If a picture package was purchased, please return the package to the photographer on retake day and we will print the original order with the new image. Be aware that the retake photo REPLACES the original image.

Beginning December 5th, students will be assessed with the NWEA MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) in Reading and Math and FastBridge (Reading only). Teachers use the data from these assessments to make informed decisions about instructional practices for their students. Parents will receive the results of their child’s assessments at the end of the 2nd Quarter. The collection of lost jackets and sweaters is growing! If your child is missing an article of clothing, please feel free stop by the main office before school begins or at the end of the school day to look for their lost item.
