SLE Weekly Update
May 27, 2022
Good afternoon East families,
Our students had a fantastic week at East. It is hard to believe but our seniors completed their last full week of school as SLCS students (they are with us for only four days next week).
Our Student Council did a great job hosting our annual LVC Charity Week, Coug's Together sponsored our 1st Staff/Student Connect Cougar Hour and our AP Chemistry students invited ECC pre-school students to join them for some Fun with Science activities.
Our hearts go out to all those impacted by the inexplicable tragedy that occurred earlier this week in Texas. Incidents like this effect individuals in different ways. SLE has social workers and counselors that are always available for students who need support. Below are some resources to help discuss this topic with your student(s).
As we head into Memorial Day weekend, we want to extend our gratitude to those who have served in the armed forces. Have a safe and enjoyable Memorial Day weekend! Be EAST!
Kind Regards,
Karen Fisher

SLE Student Broadcast News
EAST's student broadcast news was once again awarded with top honors this year amongst elite programs in the state! (We were top 5 overall). Kyle Delnick and Luke Sulja are pictured with the award for our staff , they were often lead anchors during S1.
A few other students were also recognized individually for their videos: Ava Bartoszek for her stop motion PSA and Mason Long for his snowboarding commercial.
With TONS of obstacles this year- these certificates are especially precious. The show must go on! Be East!
