Although our Newsletters are valuable reads, this one is going to be the most important. We touch on policies and procedures, many of which are new or different from previous years. Thank you for reading this and being a part of the Bayville family. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. We look forward to another great school year!
The parent portal will continue to be an essential connection between home and school. Parents have access to their children's report cards, progress reports, teacher's homepage, lunch account, and a variety of pertinent information via the parent portal. Parents can log onto the portal by clicking on www.fridayparentportal.com/berkeley. Having access to the portal allows parents to keep all important school information up to date. Please check your information and make any necessary changes. It is the parents' responsibility to keep this information current.

Medications In School
All medications, prescribed or over-the-counter, must be brought to the school by a parent in the original labeled bottle or container. All medication need written and signed order from a physician.
Please contact the school nurse, Mrs. Reece, with any questions at (732) 269-1300 (ext. 4005).
Material/Student Item Drop Off
Arrival and Dismissal
Throughout arrival and dismissal, our front parking lot will be inaccessible. Although this is an inconvenience, we do this as a safety measure for our students and staff. We appreciate your understanding.
Only students and staff will be permitted in the school building. If you need to talk to the secretaries, please let one of our staff members know and we will direct you accordingly.
During arrival, all buses and vans will be in the front parking lot of the school. We will start bringing the kindergarten and preschool students in at approximately 8:35. The rest of the school will start filtering in at 8:40.
Curbside Drop Off: Parents can drop their children off on Cranmer Road. During this drop off procedure, parents do not get out fo the car, and students are able to walk up to the school by themselves. All preschool and kindergarten students will be escorted to the school.
Parking Drop Off: If you want to walk your child up to the school, please park on Pine Tree Road and use the crosswalk to get to school. There is a crossing guard stationed at this intersection to ensure everyone's safety.
We will have staff members stationed throughout to help direct students to their classrooms. If at any time you or your child has a question, do not be afraid to ask one of us.
If you are picking up your preschool or kindergarten student, your child will need to be signed out at the end of every day. If you plan on picking them up daily and do not want them taking the bus to or from school, you can waive transportation entirely (see post below), and notify the main office and the classroom teacher of your plan to pick up every day.
If you want your child to take the bus to school, but you will pick them up at the end of every day, please notify the main office and the classroom teacher. However, you do not need to fill out a transportation waiver.
If your child traditionally takes the bus home, but you need to pick them up from school on a specific day, please notify the main office and the classroom teacher by 12pm.
Preschool and Kindergarten Pick-Up: All preschool and kindergarten students and their siblings will be picked up at Door #5 at the Back of Bayville School.
Grade 1-4 Pick-Up: If you are picking up your student(s) not in preschool or kindergarten, you do so at the front of Bayville School.
Early Pickup and Late Arrival
While the school day is operating on an abbreviated day from 8:40-12:40, please note that in order for a school day to count students need to be present for four hours of instruction. Thank you for your consideration in this matter.

Breakfast & Lunch-Grab and Go
The breakfast & lunch programs will begin on the first day of school. Breakfast can be purchased for $1.75 per day. The cost is $3.00 per day for lunch and there will be no snacks served this year. Breakfast and Lunch will be served in a Grab and Go style and students will be eating their breakfast and lunch at home. Parents wishing for their students to receive breakfast or lunch will need to complete a Google Form according to their Group number. You can find the link by visiting our homepage at btboe.org-parents-foodservices-form.
Payments for lunch can be made in the form of a check made payable to "Bayville School Cafeteria" or by accessing your child's lunch account through the parent portal and making a payment to the account using a credit or debit card.
Any child who received free or reduced lunch or breakfast last year will continue to do so for the first 30 days of September. This year, anyone who is free or reduced will be categorized as free. A new application must be completed each year. If you are pre-qualified through TANF or food stamps, you will be notified by letter and will not need to submit a new application.
If you have any questions regarding either program, please contact Sodexo at 732-269-1302 extension
