From the Principal's Office
Hello James Sales Families!
As we head into the last weeks of the school year, we are looking forward to meeting with each family in our upcoming student-led conferences. Plan to meet with your child’s/children’s teacher/teachers during the week of May 24th through May 27th. Student-led conferences are a wonderful way for you to hear about the things your child has learned this year. Soon teachers will be contacting you to schedule these conferences. If you receive a paper conference invitation (for in-person students) please return it promptly. If you receive a Zoom invitation for a conference, please accept it quickly as well.
School hours during conference week for in-person students will be from 8:45 to 11:25. Breakfast and lunch will be served. Start times for remote students will remain the same. Monday both A and B cohorts will meet. Tuesday just cohort A will have online class. Thursday only cohort B will have online class.
Now is the time to enroll kindergarteners for the 21-22 school year! If you have a child in your home that will be five on or before August 31st, they are ready for kindergarten! Please access the enrollment application on fpschools.org and follow the instructions there.
Thank you,
Mrs. Nelson

Annual School Performance Report
Warm Weather Guidelines
These reminders are to help you and your child select clothing that is comfortable, appropriate for warmer weather, and meets school standards. Thank you for your support!
- Crop tops and bare midriffs are not acceptable at school. Tummies must be covered.
- Shorts and skirts are to be at least finger-tip length.
- Straps must be at least two inches wide – no spaghetti straps on shirts and dresses.
- Bagging, sagging pants are not allowed.
- No flip-flop, open toed, or high-heeled shoes. These types of shoes are not appropriate for PE and are difficult during recess activities.
If your child is prone to sunburns, please apply sunscreen before they come to school for sun protection at recess. We are not able to apply sunscreen on students here at school.
From the Health Room
Allergy Season is here!! Seasonal allergy symptoms look like Covid-19 symptoms. If your child has these symptoms at school, we must send them home.
What you can do to ensure this doesn't happen frequently:
- If your child has allergies, make sure your student gets their allergy meds at home before school EVERYDAY. There are many over the counter allergy medications that are 24 hours. These are best given at bedtime, so that they wake up symptom free. Always ask your pediatrician which medications are best for your child's age group.
- Get a note from your doctor stating this student does have seasonal allergies AND listing what those symptoms are. If we have this on file there is less chance, we will have to send them home. *Please note this will not guarantee that they will not be sent home as the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis.
Be well,
Jessica Churchill, LPN

New Student Registration for 21-22 School Year
We are preparing for the 2021-22 school year already! Registration for new kindergarten through grade 5 students who live within our attendance boundaries is open now! A child must be five years of age on or before August 31, 2021 to be eligible to enroll. Please prepare to register by obtaining medically verified immunization records, birth certificate, and a proof of residence (utility bill, lease/rental agreement, or mortgage papers). All enrollment is done online. Click here to access the enrollment application, or go to fpschools.org and click on the red enrollment circle on the home page.
Current students who live within James Sales boundaries are automatically enrolled at James Sales for next year. Students who were overloaded to James Sales for the 20-21 school year will return to their home schools for 2021-22. Students living within our district but outside of James Sales boundaries who want to attend James Sales must complete a within-district transfer online. Click on the Transfers and Homeschool link to access the correct form. Out-of-district students who wish to attend James Sales must complete a new out-of-district transfer from their home district to be considered for enrollment.

Thank you!
We are fortunate to have the finest teachers around! Our teachers provide James Sales students with a safe environment where they can learn and grow. In addition to the daily responsibilities of running a classroom, our teachers spend countless hours outside of the school day planning and preparing for their students. Please make a special effort to show our teachers how much you appreciate what they do every day!
Brittany Behrer, Marietta Brown, Jennifer Bruce, Britney Callaghan, Austyn Collins, Helen Craig, Maraye Davis, Amber De La Torre, Joseph Delgado, Claire Elbaum, Hallie Fortt, Emily Fryberger, Carol Gillon, Erica Gott, Lucyka Hwang, Melissa Lee, Alicia McDonell, Cindy Miller, Madeline Omdal, Robyn Paczkowski, Denise Pfeiffer, Ashley Powell, Linda Rummel, Ronda Siebert, Teri Soholt, Jessica Stewart, Sophia Stover, and Elayna Van Hess, and student teachers Emma Davison, Emily Rathburn, and Linnaea Wright.
We have also had several remote teachers who have served our James Sales students this year. A big shout-out goes to the following teachers for being flexible and creative this year!
Amanda Albers, Anita Blaisdell, Jennifer Bruce, Brittany Behrer, Emily Fryberger, Carol Gillon, Samuel Guame, Arianna Happy, Pamela Jaber, Cara Kamel, and Brianna Rindlisbacher.
Our school nurse, Jessica Churchill, is an indispensable part of our school. She takes care of all our students’ health needs while they are here at school and has had an especially big job during this school year with all of the pandemic restrictions. Make sure you express your appreciation to her for all she does to take care of so many students.
A very BIG and special thank you goes to our principal, Mrs. Brandy Nelson and our assistant principal, Mrs. Joy Sims. They both put in many hours to make sure our school runs smoothly. When you see them, thank them for all they do for your students!

Reminders from the Office
- If you need to come into the building, please press the telephone button on your right as you look at the front door. This will enable the office to see you and to buzz you into the entry if needed.
- Please notify the office of any changes in the way your child will go home at the end of the day. We need this information before 1:45 so we have time to get a note to the teacher in time.
- Call the office if your child will be absent, whether they are a remote student or an in-person student. If they have an appointment, please ask the doctor, dentist, counselor, etc. for a note for school. Offices that treat children are used to giving notes to students for excuses!
- If you need to take your child out of school before the end of the school day, please come before 1:45 so you won't be stuck in the end-of-the-day pick-up line! You will need to sign your child out and wait for them to come from their classroom, so allow plenty of time.
- If your phone number, email address, or home address changes, please let us know so we have the most up-to-date contact information for you. This is especially important for students attending in-person. If they become ill, or otherwise need your help, we need a way to contact you! Thank you!
