Wanted! Epstein-Barr (EBV)
also known as Human Herpesvirus 4
Places it might strike
EBV attacks the immune system. It affects the person's blood and their bone marrow. It makes them produce an excessive amount of white blood cells which weakens the immune system. This makes it difficult to fight other infections. It's best know as the cause of infectious mononucleosis that results in swollen lymph nodes, sore throat, and fever. It transmits through people's body fluids.
Who is at the most risk
If you have a family that likes to share food, or cups, or anything that has body fluids, then you are at a high risk and should be on the lookout. Often if one person in the family gets the virus, everyone else will get it to because of how easily it transmits. Once exposed, the victim's B cells of their immune system are attacked by the virus.
Crime
EBV affects the person's blood and their bone marrow. It makes them produce an excessive amount of white blood cells which weakens the immune system and makes it difficult for the person to fight further infection. It causes soar throat, swollen lymph nodes, fatigue, enlarged spleen, and fever.
Hideout
EBV is one of the most commonly found viruses in humans. In the U.S., about half of all five-year-old children and about 90 percent of adults have evidence of previous infection. Because of this most people develop immunity to it after the get infected.
Weapons
If you don't want to get EBV you should train yourself to not share anything that has to do with body fluids like food, drinks, or toothbrushes. If you do get EBV, you should get a lot of rest, drink fluids, and use over-the-counter pain relievers since there is no specific medicine to treat it. You also need to make sure you avoid any contact sports for about a month until your spleen is no longer enlarged. Their is no vaccine and most people that are infected recover in three months.
