Define the Problem
Working through the engineering design process you are challenged to design piece of playground equipment for kids in elementary school.
Likes and Dislikes of different types of Playgrounds
Dislikes - It is probably not easily moved.
Dislikes - It is too small.
Dislikes - It doesn't have a swing.
Dislikes - It is too tall and if someone were to fall, they would probably get hurt.
Dislikes - Does not have that many things that you can do.
Criteria and Contraints
Must include 6 play elements (ex. Swing, slide, climbing wall, ladder, play wall, etc.)
Must be ONE solid structure – you should be able to pick it up and move it as one piece. Ropes joining it together do not count as a solid structure.
Must Be Safe!
Must have a Swing Set

Design 1
Design 2
Design 3
This design has 9 play elements. I do not consider this one safe because it doesn't have many railings and the swings are not placed in a good spot but design 3 is one solid structure.
