Types of Rocks
Igneous
Igneous rocks are rocks that are formed from magma. After magma bursts out of a volcano it cools and becomes hard, this is igneous rock.
Metamorphic
Metamorphic rocks are rocks that are formed from heat and pressure deep in the crust of the earth. Its so hot it changes rocks into new types rocks.
Sedimentary
Sedimentary rocks are formed form compacting and cementing at the bottom of Lakes, Rivers and Oceans. They are made from sediment wich gets packed down and into forced to solid.

Sandstone
Sandstone is made from sand
Limestone
Limestone is made from the remains of sea orgnism
Coal
Made from compressed plant metireal
Igneous
Granite
Granite is a slow cooling rock which crystals be seen in. Although formed underground, granite often becomes visible above ground when erosion uncover it.
Basalt
Basalt is extrusive rock containing tiny crystals. The ocean floor is made from Basalt.
Greenstone
Greenstone is hard and fine grained.
Metamorphic
Gneiss
Gneiss isa rock that frequently contains bands of different minerals. Bends in in the bands indicate where enormous pressure has folded the rock.
Slate
Slate is a fine grained rock derived from an original shale type sedimentary rock composed of clay or volcanic ash through low-grade regional metamorphism.
Marble
Marble is a rock that forms from limestone or dolomite.
