A Message From Principal Choquette 4/5/19
Good afternoon! I hope you all had a wonderful week and are going to be able to get outside on the upcoming beautiful weekend.
We are excited to announce that we are going to be getting some new and exciting things for our playground. Thank you to the PTO and parents who are helping to help make this happen. After the April recess, students will come back to school with a brand new Gaga Pit and an Imagination Playground. I will be speaking to the students about the use and rules of these two things at the April 11th celebration. Thank you again to all of our amazing parents who are helping out with this.
Also at the April 11th celebration we will be announcing the outcomes of our read-a-thon and finding out if the principal has to dye her hair for the day :)
I'd like to congratulate Kelley Knight, our district outreach social worker. This morning Kelley was the recipient of the Champion for Children award in honor of Child Abuse Awareness Month. Kelley has done so much for our students and families over the years. She is a true champion of children. Thank you Kelley for all that you do for the children and families of Northampton.
There is a menu change coming up. Monday, April 8th lunch will be french toast sticks and Wednesday, April 10th lunch will be grilled cheese and tomato soup.
I would like to remind all PreK-5th grade families that any child that arrives late to school must enter through the main office door and get a late slip in the office. Thank you for your cooperation.
I'd like to thank the city council and DPW for not only making the school zone on Union and Parsons, but now making a school zone on Bridge Street. In all school zones during school drop off in the morning and pick up in the afternoon, the speed limit is 20 mph. On Bridge, there’s a light that flashes when the speed limit is 25. There is not a light on Union or Parsons but the same laws still apply.
Thank you to all who work to keep our children safe! Have a wonderful weekend.
