Announcements
Thank you to everyone who helped out with BizTown last week! It was a fun, busy day for students (and volunteers!), and I was so proud of our young business-people for working so hard! Also, a huge thank you to all of you for making sure your child got to school by 8:00am on Tuesday!
Thank you, as well, to Mrs. Daniels for planning such a fun art lesson for this year's Silver Graphics project! (And thank you to Mrs. Kelly and Mrs. Landdeck for coming in to help out!)
As you know, Parent Teacher Conferences are coming up! Thank you to everyone who has already signed up for a conference slot. If you have not yet signed up, please use the link I emailed last weekend and choose a time that works for you (one conference time per student). I look forward to meeting with all of you!
Please look here next week for an update on our 40-Book Challenge! I conference with students throughout the week and do an "official count" every 3 weeks. After 3 weeks of school, my 33 students had already read 179 books!!! I can't wait to see where they are after 6 weeks!! Parents, hopefully you are all enjoying your books too! If you have a moment, please send me a quick email and let me know how many books you've finished so far!!

Social Studies
We will begin our first Social Studies unit this week by learning about how Native American tribes lived in various regions of the United States. Students will be working on a Google Slides project in class as a part of this unit.
We have a States & Capitals test this Friday (10/5). Your student should be studying his/her current region at home every day as a part of their homework. You can help them by printing out a blank map and quizzing them on those states and capitals. There are also links to many online games and resources on my website that may help them prepare!
