Mrs. Menta's Message

Happy Sunday Craddock!

Mother Nature has delivered nicely for Mother's Day! Craddock sends lots of love to all of the mothers out there that play an integral part in ensuring your child's success each day at Craddock! From packing lunches, to getting materials for a "Star of the Week" poster to making sure there's money in the book bag for the book fair - THANK YOU! You are all recognized and appreciated more than you could ever know! Enjoy this special day with those you love most!

We have so many fun things coming up as we begin to wind down our spring benchmarking assessments and curriculum work. Our students have grown tremendously, not only academically, but also socially and emotionally. Growth in those areas is most important if we want to help our students be successful both in and out of school. We are so proud of them all!

Please read below carefully. We have so many things happening the next nine days and this resource is the best way to catch the details on everything. Please be reminded that you can ALWAYS reach out to the Craddock office with any specific questions. Mrs. Kerchenski and I will help you with whatever you need!

Hang on for these last nine days! They are going to be a blast!

Sincerely,

Kim Menta

Field Day is Friday, May 19th!

We are keeping our fingers crossed for great weather to accommodate Craddock's annual Field Day on Friday, May 19th! The kids will participate in the morning and afternoon in 18 different activities, including the Kona Ice Truck!

Students should wear their classroom Aurora t-shirts, comfortable athletic shoes and sunscreen. We are also asking all students bring a water bottle labeled with his/her name. These will be able to be refilled as needed outside.

Many thanks to our PTO for all they are doing to make this super fun day happen! We can't wait!

Craddock Transportation Request 22-23

If at any time, you wish to change your child's mode of transportation for one or more days, you must fill out the Google form attached. We are no longer able to accept notes, phone calls and/or emails to do this, outside of emergencies. Thank you!

Click Here for Craddock's Lunch Menu

It is recommended you check this link often when making decisions about whether your child is buying lunch or not. The menu has been changing more often than we anticipated. Thank you!

Click Here to Add Money to Your Child's Account

We had a new computer system installed over Spring Break. We are finding that if you had linked a credit card to replenish money in your child's account, it was unlinked. Please go back into your settings and set it back up. Thank you!

A Note from Mrs. Ambrosia, School Counselor

Hello Families!

I hope you’re savoring these last moments of the school year and all the fun that comes connected to these memorable times. Students will be exploring careers as a finale to their classroom guidance lessons this May. My hope is they can find an area of interest and further their knowledge of careers in that area.

The 23-24 school year will be a bittersweet one for me as I will have a change in my role and be supporting the students at Miller Elementary three days a week. The other two days, I will be moving to Leighton Elementary as the second school counselor. I am proud to work in a school district that recognizes student needs and works to make meaningful changes to support their school population. Craddock will a have a school counselor FIVE days each week, which has been welcomed and celebrated by all of us that work at this amazing school. I will work alongside the new counselor to support and assist with this transition. Students will likely still see me at Craddock as a result!

While I will dearly miss my current first graders, along with all of the kind, talented and loving staff that walk the halls of Craddock, I will be awaiting them as they graduate as second graders and transition to Leighton as third graders to support them for three more years! To my second grade families, I look forward to working with your students and being a familiar face at Leighton when they start back to school on August!

I am happy to help any student, parent or family with anything they need at any time! My contact number will still be the same at Miller next year: (330) 562-6199, ext. 1260. I can also be reached at lambrosia@aurora-schools.org as needed! Please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Lindsey Ambrosia
