Dear Families
Dear El Sol Familes,
March has definitely come in like a lion! Please keep sending your child's winter gear through the end of the month. We all know Michigan can throw us some weather surprises during the month of March!
March is Reading Month! We got off to an amazing start with our Literacy Night: Full STEAM Ahead / Adelante con artes y ciencias. All the students and teachers developed fabulous projects and products. The 1st and 2nd grade concerts were awesome! Special thanks to Ms. Measzros for another marvelous production. This month we have special days for students to participate in theme-based activities based on reading. See the calendars below. The calendars were also sent electronically and by paper.
Please remember to check your child's backpack daily for homework or notes from the school. You can also check your child's Google Classroom and email, your parent email, the teacher's messaging platform (Class Dojo, ClassTag, Remind, etc.) or the El Sol Elementary PTO Facebook page to find school or classroom related information. As always, please do not hesitate to call the school or reach out to staff or teachers at any time.
Anytime your child shows signs of contagious illness (vomiting, fever, diarrhea) you should keep them home until they are symptom free for 24 hours. If they have additional COVID-like symptoms (coughing, sore throat, loss of taste or smell, etc.) please exercise caution and consider having your child tested. Please remember to call the office on the day your child is absent for any reason so we can document it correctly.

Principal, El Sol Elementary

Tips for students who bring their own lunch:

- Teach your child how to store containers back in their lunch box.
- We do not warm up food for students at lunch time.
