Academic Theme - Don't Bug Me, I'm Reading!
Students gathered for the first academic theme assembly on Wednesday morning in the Gym. The teachers performed a short skit to introduce the reading theme "Don't Bug Me, I'm Reading!" and explained the all school reading goals for the year.
- When the school has read 6,000 books, we will enjoy an ice cream party.
- If we reach 10,000 books read, we will have a picnic with dirt cups.
Each classroom will decide how to tally up the books they've read. Happy reading!

FDL County Health Dept. Flu Clinic
Dear Parents and/or Guardians,
The Fond du Lac County Health Department will be offering flu mist (intranasal) at Shepherd of the Hills on Wednesday, October 18 after Mass. Flu vaccine is recommended every year by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This program is provided at no cost to you.
Students in grades 3K-12 will be able to receive the flu vaccine during the school day without a parent being present. If you feel your child will not be cooperative, or if you feel your child could use staff assistance such as helping to hold your child, please check the box on the consent form. We will plan to have increased staff and/or volunteers for our elementary school aged children.
If you would like your child to receive a flu vaccine:
- Please fill out the consent form
- Return the consent form to your child’s school by October 6, 2023.
Vaccine Information Statements are available in the school office or at https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/hcp/vis/vis-statements/flu.html
- The Intranasal FluMist will be the primary vaccine method this year UNLESS your child needs the injectable vaccine due to a medical condition. Please be sure to fill out the consent form accurately for this reason.
- Children less than 9 years of age who have not received at least two doses of flu vaccine in the past, should receive two doses of vaccine this year. Your consent gives permission for both doses, if needed.
- We will return to your child’s school at least 4 weeks later if a second dose is needed.
If your child is absent on the day we come to your school, there are two opportunities for your child to receive influenza vaccine.
- On Saturday, October 21 at the Fond du Lac YMCA or Children’s Museum of Fond du Lac from 8am-3pm no appointment necessary. Vaccinate children 6months through 18 years of age.
- On Thursday, October 26th at the Fond du Lac County Health Department at vaccine clinic from 7:30am-4:30pm Appointment required. Please call the Health Department at 920-929-3085 for more information, or to schedule an appointment. You can also check our website http://www.fdlco.wi.gov/departments/departments-f-m/health-department/seasonal-influenza for school vaccine dates and forms.

Walking With Purpose
The women’s bible study “Walking with Purpose” will offer two study courses this fall:
‘Opening Your Heart’ is an introductory course that reviews many of the Catholic teachings we have learned throughout our lives and connects them to Scripture. The questions in this study may cause you to think about new concepts and others might find it a review.
‘Grounded in Hope’ is an intermediate study and explores the book of Hebrews. It will help you encounter Jesus in such a powerful, comforting, and stabilizing way that He can become your lifeline. Hebrews presents the greatness of Christ as no other New Testament writer does, and beholding Him will transform you.
All women are welcome to join us for coffee and meaningful conversation as we watch one of the videos. No previous experience is necessary. Just come as you are—with your questions, doubts, joys, and hopes. We have an empty chair and a cup of coffee waiting for you!
Babysitting will be provided free of charge.
We hope you can join us on Wednesday, September 27 at 9:15 am (right after the 8:30 am Mass) or on Thursday, September 28 at 6:00 pm in the Shepherd of the Hills Coffee House.
For more information contact tmahler@gmail.com or kathyteofilo@gmail.com. Registration forms are in the back of the Church or on the website.
