5Essentials Survey- Teachers, Students and Parents

The 5Essentials survey window is open until March. The 6th grade students are done, and we have about 20% of our teachers' input! Teachers-please use some time during the day on Thursday, Feb. 12th to complete your survey. Thank you!

The next big step is to get 20% of our parents to complete this survey. As an added feature to our Parent/Teacher conference times, I will have on hand coffee and hot chocolate for families and six chrome books for parents to utilize, in Room 3. Teri, Brian and Laura will help to invite parents into what we will describe as the "Chrome Book Lounge," and assist parents to access and complete the 5Essentials survey. Hopefully this will help us reach our parent participation number! I will create a small half-sheet of information that can be left on desks outside each classroom, inviting parents to visit the "Chrome Book Room," especially if they have not yet finished the survey.

It's Random Act of Kindness Week- Feb. 9th to Feb. 13

Class Meeting Suggestion for Random Acts of Kindness Week (or any week) :)

I have created a short lesson template, using the "Reflecting on Values" class meeting format from CSC. I will be placing this into teacher mailboxes.

I am also hoping to have in classrooms by Tuesday, our February Everybody Reads book that features a message of kindness.

Looking forward to a good turn out for conferences!

I so appreciate everyone's commitment and extra work that I have seen going into ensuring that we will have 100% participation with our families in the upcoming parent/teacher conferences. The time we have with families can seem so short, and please remember the delicate balance of sharing progress and sharing concerns... Sharing academic focuses along with social emotional growth.

Thank you for all of the planning and preparation that is going into your successful meetings with our families!
