BULLDOG BARK
Emerson Elementary December 4, 2022
Congratulation Mrs. Collins!
Mrs. Collins won a grant from the Macomb Schools and Government Credit Union! With this grant, she intends to create a S.T.E.M. Reading Center.
This math and science center will be complete with flexible seating, fun lighting, a variety of books and graphic novels that focus on STEM topics, and math and science games and manipulatives. This will provide students with additional opportunities to explore math and science in a way that is interesting and inviting, and hopefully help to establish a lifelong love of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
DECEMBER CHARACTER TRAIT IS COURAGE!
Mantra: I can have courage and believe in myself.
Quote: “When the whole world is silent, even one voice becomes powerful.” -Malala Yousafzai
Requesting a Change in Learning Mode
Now through December 6, families can request a change in the learning mode for their student(s) for the second semester of the 2022-2023 school year. Students who are currently enrolled in-person can switch to virtual, and students who are enrolled in virtual can switch to in-person. If you do not wish to switch your child’s learning mode, no action is necessary.
Submitting the form linked below does not guarantee a request will be granted. Requests will be reviewed by building and district leadership and the parent/guardian will be notified. If approved, the change will be effective for the second semester (January 3, 2022 - June 9, 2023). Once a request has been approved, it will be for the duration of the second semester. Please carefully consider this semester-long commitment before submitting this application, as requests to change throughout the second semester will not be granted.
If you are interested in changing your child’s learning mode for the second semester, please fill out the application linked below.
You will be notified if your request is approved.
ATTENTION! PUT YOUR STUDENT'S NAME ON ALL BELONGINGS!
Jackets, Lunch Boxes, sweatshirts, hoodies, gloves, hats, water bottles, footballs, basketballs, playground balls.
All items that have a name on them will be returned the same day they are lost.
COLD WEATHER IS HERE!
Please be sure to send your child to school dressed for the weather each day. Students will start needing warm coats, gloves, hats, scarves, and/or boots daily throughout the winter.
Please take time to label each and every item- because our lost and found gets bombarded with lost winter accessories throughout the season
Please note that, per Board Policy, we will be having outdoor morning lineup and heading outdoors for our 20 minute recess(es) if the windchill is 10+ degrees.
Time outdoors is time well spent for kids, in all seasons
