Yankee Candle Fundraiser

Why sell candles? The PTO is raising funds to help the school buy new SeeAll Sand and Water tables for the classrooms. Our goal is to make $1,300 for this project. By selling candles to family, friends and neighbors, and by choosing to give gifts from our catalog this holiday season, you will help us get closer to our goal. So far we have earned $359.20 via online sales...Give this final week a big sales push to help us reach our goal!

COMING SOON.... CAR MAGNETS!

New Car Magnets are on their way. Stop by the PTO Table during Back to School Night to pre-order your magnets. It's a fun way to show your school pride and the kids get so excited to see their school logo in a place of honor. Magnets are $5 each.

LABELS FOR EDUCATION

A Jack-o-Lantern flyers should have come home in your child's folder this week. Please complete the form by attaching 2 Pepperidge Farm qualifying labels and 3 Campbell's labels for our school to earn 50 points per completed sheet. (Additional Forms are available). Please ask friends and family members (Grandparents are great collectors!) to collect all Labels for Education UPCs. There is a complete list of qualifying products here. We have a drop off box located near the Schools Office, but labels in baggies can be sent in via communication folders as well. This is a year round program, but the Jack-o-Lantern bonus game is due October 31st. Our school has the opportunity to earn up to 1250 points through this Jack-o-lantern bonus game!!

Why do we Fundraise?

This is a question we often hear as new families join our school and the PTO.


Fundraisers that the PTO provide help support improvements to the school, that go above the reach of the preschool's annual budget. In years past we have purchased new carpets for the classrooms, helped revive the swing sets, and refresh our most beloved playground train. We additionally helped raise, in conjunction with church members, the funds for the construction of the canopy at school entrance, which we are grateful for every rainy day during kiss & ride.


This year our goal is to purchase new SeeAll Sand and Water tables for the classrooms. We strive to provide the teachers with an annual stipend from the PTO to off-set their personal spending for the classrooms. Funds are also used for "teacher appreciation" projects. A small percentage of funds is allotted for administrative costs for the PTO operations (such as paper/envelopes, fundraising materials, and meeting supplies, etc).

Meeting Debrief...

At our recent meeting, the PTO received a treasurer's report from Laura Carls. We voted to disperse money from last years fundraising, for teacher stipends, money teachers use to buy extra special classroom supplies, to reduce their personal spending on special items. We also voted to donate $1,000 to a landscaping project at our school's entrance.


We have purchased new car magnets for $5, you can pre-order your magnet during back to school night, or fliers will go home in communication folders with each student. We are also accepting spirit wear design ideas for this year's spirit shirts. Please submit any designs to the PTO by October 23rd.


We are continuing our efforts with providing the teachers with items from the Giving Tree (located in the hallway by the music room). Our teachers have been overjoyed by the Giving Tree's rapid fulfillment. Please be sure to check with your teachers if there are any specific needs they may have if you don't find something specific on the tree.


Yankee Candle is full swing, and we would like to encourage you to share the online shopping link with friends and family (via social media can be very successful). Deadline for Yankee orders is October 19th.


We are organizing some fun spirit nights around town, such as Chuck E. Cheese and Chick-fil-A. These are great social outings for the kids to see their classmates in a different setting. The school earns a percentage of the evening. Bonus, it's a night off from kitchen duties!


The coffee hour meet-up was a huge hit. We enjoyed spending an hour getting to meet some new friends and chat about general parenting adventures. Please consider joining our next coffee hour!


Projects on the horizon. Operation Turkey will begin as we reach the end of the month. This is a service project to collect food donations for SERVE. We will also be selling magnets and spirit wear in November. We are also cooking up some special thank you's for the teachers in November/December. Watch for more information on these details coming from your room parents (Shhh... It's a secret!)


We are always investigating new fundraising ideas and accepting volunteers for projects big and small. Thanks again for joining us on this fun adventure of parenthood, supporting our wonderful preschool and helping it grow.
