Iditarod Fundraiser

Our 5th-grade IDITA-DOGS are excited to bring back our IDITAROD Plush Animal Fundraiser. This year's IDITA-DOGS selected Milo the Moose, Points the Whitetail Deer, and Woolsey the Wolf Cub for PMES students to purchase. The company we are working with is sending us these selections as they become available. They are confident they can fulfill our orders within the next couple of months. However, due to possible supply chain issues, they will offer a full refund for any orders they cannot satisfy.

*Quantities are limited.

ORDER EARLY SO YOU DON'T MISS OUT!

All proceeds from this fundraiser will go to support Jeff and KattiJo Deeter and their 2 teams of sled dogs in the 2022 Iditarod race.

PMES Book Fair

Book Fair is coming February 9-11! Students will have an opportunity to preview the fair earlier in the week to decide what they might like to buy, and then they will shop in the Media Center with their classmates on these days. While parents and families cannot shop during the school day in person, we encourage you to set up an eWallet for your child, and there will be a sign up-only family shopping opportunity after school on Thursday, February 10. For more information about eWallet and the shopping sign up link when it becomes available, check out our PMES Book Fair website. If you choose to shop online, you can support our school by shopping through the link on our site as early as February 3!

Updated PMES COVID Protocols

Based on the increase of COVID cases with the Omicron variant, I want to make you all aware of the protocols that are in place at Puckett’s Mill:

  • Masks will still be required of all students while they are in the building. Students will be able to remove masks while eating, drinking, participating in exercise, and at recess.

  • Visitors will not be allowed in the building. This includes lunch visitors and classroom volunteers.

  • Students seeking breakfast will “grab and go” and eat in their classroom.

  • Our lunch schedule will be altered to allow students to eat in the cafeteria every other day. When in the cafeteria, students will sit on one side of the table. On days when students are not eating in the cafeteria, they will take their lunch to their classroom to eat.

  • Students will be provided multiple opportunities throughout the day to wash and sanitize their hands.

  • Our custodial staff along with our teachers will frequently utilize the sanitation products provided by GCPS in classrooms and throughout the school.

School Chromebooks for Digital Learning

Students whose parents have completed the Chromebook request form will have a Chromebook sent home with them beginning Friday, January 7th, and every day following. This will become our general practice in order to ensure that all students have the materials they need at home regardless of digital or in-person instruction. On any device at home, students can access their teacher's eCLASS course page as well as programs such as Classworks, iReady, and Amplify to practice grade level concepts and skills. The students use these programs at school and will know how to access them from home via their device.
