FRIDAY FOCUS
May 2-6, 2016
JBD Teachers
Parents,
Our teachers are amazing and I know you will show them appreciation in many ways. One thing I know, is that they really appreciate when parents and students go out of their way to write notes and letters that tell them how much they have meant to their children. If you feel inspired to write a wonderful note to your child's or children's teachers, consider sharing it with me! Teachers always want their principal to know when their students and parents think they are doing a great job. There is nothing I like more than sharing in those positive notes. There is no doubt all of the JBD teachers are deserving of great appreciation.
On that line, please know how much we all appreciate you as parents and everything you do for your children! It takes a community and many hands to help our children grow and thrive. Your support is greatly appreciated!

Clinic Corner
As the school year winds down a few reminders from the clinic:
All 5th graders heading to middle school next year: Proof of Tdap vaccination is needed to get your child’s schedule mailed over the summer. If they get the vaccination done before the last day of school I can update their immunizations for middle school. If you get the vaccination done after June 17 then proof of the immunization needs to go to Great Neck Middle.
If your child has medicine in the clinic: Epi pens, Inhalers, Motrin, or Tylenol needs to be picked up by a parent before June 17. Any medication left after June 17 will be destroyed and discarded. Asthma action plans and Life Threatening Allergy forms for 2016-17 school year are available in the clinic.
Weather is getting warmer and the students are going outside for P.E. so remember to apply sunscreen to your child before they come to school.
