Sequoia High School
Distant Learning School Year November 2, 2020
From the Principal:
In August we set out on a journey that required us to cut a path through unpaved terrain. We also had to use the tools and strategies that were new to us. The stress we faced was trying to do the best for the students that we serve. But, the inherent strength that Sequoia holds is the ability to take on a challenge as a collaborative and support each other. Each of us also possesses the leadership skills of compassion, perseverance, and commitment. Fast forward to now, the 3rd Session will start today and in 6 weeks the 2020 year is over. We have coved tremendous ground and made monumental gains. I have full admiration for each of you. Just this weekend I was telling my wife the extraordinary work ethic and leadership that each of you possesses. Yes, I did talk about each one of you and the role that you have played for Sequoia. even though we do not interact on a daily basis, due to the pandemic, what holds me connected to you all is the strength of relationships, kinship. "Kinship is not serving the other, but being one with the other. " Thank you for being one with the other to reach Session 3.

Mother Teresa stated, "I can do things you cannot, you can do things I cannot; together we can do great things." On October 22, 2020, held our second district-wide food distribution. We served 777 families. The cars kept coming and we kept giving. Together with the amazing help from VUSD Maintenance Department, Migrant Education, and the Attendance department we did the good work. Thank you all for giving of time and strength. Our next event is being planned by Sequoia ASB in conjunction with the ASB programs from each VUSD High School.
