Hope you brought your umbrella!
My wife hired a new teacher this past week, eight weeks into the grading period. As she was telling me about her coming in to class that day she remarked about what the teacher said to the students that day and it has stuck with me the past few days. She told the kids that she understood that they had not had consistency for the past few weeks and that may have been difficult for them, but then she told them this. Don't worry, because I have your back. How fantastic is that? An adult letting a kid know that they are going to be in their corner and she is going to do all that she can to help make the kids feel that they are included and valued in that classroom. Can all of your kids say that? I think most of them can...what would it take to have all of them be able to say that? Let's have their backs because honestly, there are not many people in some of their corners!
Thank you for being wonderful!
