Possible Misunderstanding

It's come to my attention that some may be under the impression we are planning to have team meetings AND PLC meetings every week next year. I'm sorry for the misunderstanding. The plan is to have PLC meetings on Tuesdays instead of Thursdays (so no Thursday meeting). While authentic PLC's are not exactly the same as our GPS process, they are similar in that each team will focus on planning for the Four Essential Questions...

  • What do we want kids to learn? (TEKS, curriculum, learning objective)
  • How will we know they learned it? (formative and summative assessments)
  • What will kids who have mastered the learning? (pre-assessment; extension)
  • What will we do with kids who don't master the learning? (Tier 1, 2, and/or 3 instruction)

Each week the team will spend their PLC time planning to address one of the above and/or analyzing and using the assessment data to guide instructional decisions. The authentic PLC process is structured and prescribed.

Need your Vote...

Thursday is the last PTA General Body meeting of the year. Our fabulous PTA friends need to ensure they have a quorum so important issues can be voted on. Please ensure someone from each team (co-cur and specials included) is present at the meeting Thursday evening. I don't anticipate it being a long won't need to stay for the Karaoke (unless you want to).

Thank you for the support.

Computer Damage?

As we go into laptop refresh season, it's important for us to know about any concerns with your current laptop. Please email Tammie if your teacher laptop is damaged or you have lost your power cord. It is not necessary to alert her regarding batteries that won't hold a charge as that is considered a result of normal wear and tear.

June 1st - End of Year Parties

This schedule is a total departure from the normal schedule. The driving factor was to have the youngest children outside the earliest parts of the day. Recess is not included in the schedule as I thought you may want to have indoor recess given that you'll all be outside for party time.
