PHS Celebrates the New Gym!

A fabulous Saturday night at the old-and-now-new gym. Thanks to Andy Isetta, Kathyrn Teeter, Phoebe Ellis, the Behrs, Janelle Lombardi, ASB (Kevin and Andrew), Michael Baribault, and many many more, we had a terrific night. The bonus was a great student section, and wins by freshmen, JV, Varsity boys teams.

This week, we have a staff meeting Monday afternoon, PLN/Department meetings Wednesday, TC and Site Council Thursday, and 8th Grade Parent Night Thursday night. Whew!

Schloesser Makes a Splash!

A nice article on the PHS wrestling program, the legacy of Denny Plyler, and the continuation of that legacy with Paul. Check it out...

Take a Look at the New Website!

In case you haven't had a chance to check out the new website, please take a moment to take a look so that you're aware of new navigation and content. If you are a teacher of content and do not have a website attached to the site, please let us know so we can link your site to the main website. At this point, it is expected that you should have a web presence that is accessible to students. Thanks again to Chris and Kerry for working on this!

Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) Replaces NCLB

One thing we count on in the school business is reform. In the case of the new Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), the accountability question has been sent back to the states for the first time since the Reagan era. That's why the LCAP (Local Control and Accountability Plan) is so important since it should provide the roadmap for assessing how we do as a school. Below are two varying viewpoints on ESSA to check out. We will spend some further time on this down the road...
