Next Week- International Walk and Roll to School Day
Join Lawrence Elementary for International Walk and Roll to School Day on Wednesday, October 6! We will celebrate our school spirit, our health, and the environment with Alameda County Safe Routes to Schools program. With your family and friends, you can participate by:
- Walking, riding a bike, or riding a scooter to school.
- Taking the bus with your child and walking to and from the bus stop.
- Parking in the surrounding neighborhoods and walking with a group of friends to make a walking school bus!
Will you walk with your neighbors? Will you park off of Royal Rd. and Briarwood Dr. to cross Portola and say "Good Morning" to Phyllis, our fantastic crossing guard? Make a plan ahead with your friends and family and have fun!
Post a fun photo on social media to celebrate the day and tag #WalkandRoll21 and #IWR2SD if you'd like!
We look forward to walking and rolling with you!
Habit of the Week- Think Win Win
“I balance courage for getting what
I want with consideration for what
others want. I make deposits in
others’ Emotional Bank Accounts.
When conflicts arise, I look for
third alternatives. I cooperate
instead of compete.”
Focus Areas:
Grades TK, K, 2, and 4- Courage and Consideration
Grade 1, 3, and 5- Keep Promises

Modified Trunk-or-Treat on 10/22, 4-6PM
What is a Trunk-or-Treat? A Trunk-or-Treat is a fun and sometimes hilarious way to celebrate Halloween by decorating your trunk and we are so excited to bring back a modified version of this tradition! Register to decorate the back of your car into something spooky, creative, a favorite movie theme, or even into your Labrador's class mascot or theme! How will this year's Trunk-or-Treat be different? Masks are required for everyone. We will have a one-direction path to walk along, enjoy the trunks on the blacktop, and cast your votes for Best In Show, Spookiest, and Best Character or Theme from a book, movie or show! Candy will safely be distributed in individual bags at the exit. Pre-ordered caramel apples, sold by 5th Graders this year for camp, will also be distributed upon exiting. A photo booth and cake walk freeze dance will also be a part of the festivities. Let's get ready for some spooktacular and safe fun this year!
If you're interested in decorating your trunk, please fill out this interest form by October 8th. Space is limited.
If you'd like to bring in a store-bought and sealed dessert for the cake walk freeze dance, please fill out this WeJoin here: https://www.wejoinin.com/sheets/diccw
Our Candy Monsters will be out and very hungry at each of our drop-off entrances on the mornings of October 4th-15th. For each bag of candy or trinkets your Labrador feeds the monsters, they’ll get 5 special Paw Awards in return. Please ask your Labradors and help us name these friendly Candy Monsters on our Facebook Community Group poll!
