Lincoln Crossing Colt Connection

Mrs. Hladun's Tidings
Parking will always be a challenge on our campus because we are inviting 600+ students onto campus in a 20 minute window twice daily. This is a situation where we ALL have to work together to keep our students and families safe! Two reminders:
1. there is a reserved parking spot adjacent to the accessible spot in the school's parking lot - it is set aside for a specific family thanks to generous donations from our Colt community. The family accesses the spot numerous times a day and it is often filled by another vehicle. Even if the spot is open, it is not available for parking by anyone but the family who it is reserved for. Please respect the cone that is in the the spot.
2. a parent who was volunteering to help students cross the street in front of our school was clipped by a white car last week after a child was dropped off by the bus zone. This is unacceptable, and totally avoidable when we all drive safely and are aware of our surroundings. Drop off and pick up is a busy time, but please put down items that distract you so that our students and families are safe.
Please review our site parking map here, please be cautious about your surroundings, please be sure your children are buckled and please remember to put down your cell phone while you are driving.
Building Resilience in Children
Resilience involves the ability to "get back up when you’ve been knocked down or to come back fighting stronger after a loss. It gives you the sense of optimism that allows you to keep trying." To that end, it is an essential component of developing a Growth Mindset. Click here for more ideals on the intersection between resilience and a growth mindset.
