St. Mike's Matters - Thursday Notes

October 12th, 2017 Issue #6

Dear St. Michael Families,

Our Super Spartan Family Night Celebration is all set for this Saturday! Join our "Family of Families" for a night of fun, celebration, and stewardship to benefit the future of the school. Proceeds from this annual community event are split equally to benefit our endowment for tuition assistance and our capital improvements fund. The amazing super hero team of Michelle Newlean and Alysha Myers have organized an awesome variety of games and activities for you and your children. You will have a blast! Thank you, all, for your help in procurement, volunteering, and all of the ways you share your time and talent with our school through this event. I’ll see you this Saturday at 5PM in the gym!

Last Friday our teachers joined together in fellowship and prayer for a special retreat. We held our first annual Christ in the Classroom retreat, which is a new, annual catechetical certification component for teachers within the Archdiocese of Seattle. This first retreat focused on the Great Mysteries of the Incarnation, the Trinity, the Paschal Mystery, and the Eucharist. We had valuable time to pray, study, reflect, and share as a faculty community.

Hooray! After navigating some technical challenges originating with the testing company, we are currently wrapping up our fall MAP testing. Thank you for supporting and encouraging your children as they conducted these important assessments. Our faculty will be working together at an upcoming meeting to analyze data and utilize it to inform their teaching. Our teachers look forward to sharing your child’s testing results with you during conferences in two weeks.
