Construction Update

We found out on Tuesday afternoon that construction will begin tomorrow, Monday, November 26. Please see the map below. The red fencing will be going up tomorrow, which means students and parents will need to enter campus in the front from the 300 wing (behind the music building) from the Goodwin side.

If you did not pick up your student’s report card at conferences this past week it will be mailed out tomorrow.

SCREENAGERS: Growing Up in the Digital Age (Film)

Thursday, December 13, 2018, 7:00pm – 8:30pm

John F. Kennedy Middle School (Gym)

2521 Goodwin Avenue, Redwood City

Are you watching your kids scroll through life, with their rapid-fire thumbs and a six-second attention span?

Join us for a showing of SCREENAGERS, the powerful new documentary that reveals how tech time impacts kids’ mental, physical, and social-emotional development.

Physician and filmmaker Dr. Delaney Ruston offers solutions on how adults can help kids navigate the digital world and find balance. This award-winning film depicts the messy family struggles over cell phones, social media, video games, and academics.

Parents, students, educators, and community members welcome! Free admission and light refreshments. Spanish interpretation will be available.

Redwood City School District Parent Education Series events are sponsored by Unidos PTO, Adelante School, Kennedy Middle School, Sequoia Healthcare District, and Sequoia Union High School District.

Holiday Travel

We recognize the importance of seeing family and friends, and how expensive plane tickets can be, which often influences when you travel, but we want to stress how critical it is for each student to be in school. A homework packet for those out five days or more (that we must have two weeks or more notice to put together), doesn’t make up for the in-person instruction and collaboration with peers. Please have your students in school right up until winter break and when we return back in January.

Google Classroom

We have created a Google Classroom as an easier way to post presentations (Principal’s Coffee, Parent Tech Class, etc.), resources, videos, and more. Instructions are below to join our Google Classroom. We will start updating it more and more in English and Spanish. To join, you need a free Google account (email address). If you need help in setting one up we can help you. Contact Kathryn Marinos, our Tech Coach, at or pop into the Family Center.
