Report Card and Grades
Please follow the following information regarding grades sent to you by Miranda~
Teachers,
As you know, we have a new gradebook this school year which brings new reports. We will not be printing report cards, but they will be available online on October 20. Please read all of the information below to prepare for the end of Q1.
- The cut-off date by which all grades must be complete within PowerTeacher Pro is Friday, October 6th at 5PM. The teacher portal will close at that time for the storing of grades and will remain closed until October 16th.
- Before leaving on 10/6 teachers should print a copy of the gradebook using the Scoresheet report in PowerTeacher Pro. The directions are attached. Printing or Saving...pdf or Print a KK Gradebook.pdf
- Beginning at 7:00 AM, Monday, October 16, 2017, teachers should print the on-screen report in the PowerTeacher portal to verify that Q1 grades have been stored and are correct. Remember to make corrections in red and include the number and letter grade. Teachers should print and sign the verification report to indicate that grades have been verified. This process should be completed by 5:00PM on Wednesday, Oct. 18 to give me time to make all corrections. The directions are attached. Q1 Grade Verification_2017_18.pdf
If you have any questions about this process, please let me know. Also, all grade books have been set up for the entire school year. Please do not change any of the percentages within the quarters or semesters.
Party Time - Put November 10th on your calendar!

TNReady Score Report Resource for Families
The department has a website to provide additional information about TNReady score reports in order to help families better understand their students' individual score reports, as well as next steps for supporting their students' academic progress. The website includes detailed explanations of each section of the individual score report and links to additional resources. Click here to view the website.
Social Studies 5–8 Assessment Blueprint Now Available
The social studies grades 5–8 assessment blueprint for 2017-18 is now available on the department’s website (here). As a reminder, blueprints are designed to offer teachers an overview of the test structure. Blueprints also include descriptions of TNReady item types and, if applicable, subject-specific ancillary documents, such as calculator guidance for math. Blueprints are available for all TNReady assessments (here). Please reach out to Kadie.Patterson@tn.gov with questions.
Educator License Renewal and Advancement
Please be sure and check when your license will be expiring! The district does not do this for you anymore! You will find all the licensure information in TNCompass.
Educators with licenses that expire on Aug. 31, 2018, may now begin to apply to renew or advance their license in TNCompass. Districts may run their own licensure report in TNCompass to see which staffed educators in their district have licenses expiring in 2018.
To renew a professional license, educators must submit 60 Professional Development Points (PDPs). To advance to a professional license, educators must submit three years of acceptable experience and either 30 PDPs or a recommendation from the director of schools. Educators are advised to verify that they are able to renew or advance their license before they complete a renewal or advancement transaction in TNCompass. Please reach out to Educator.Licensure@tn.gov with questions.
