Rally Info: Friday Nov 15 is an all Advisory/no enrich afternoon for the Q2 rally. Rally release times are as follows: 6th 1:40; 7th 1:45 and 8th 1:50. Please review expectations with your Advisory before the rally and click here for the seating chart.
PD: Pirates! Please check out the calendar for PD this week. We have lead learners with Carney and Jenice 1:30-5:00. We have Team Pirates with an awesome afternoon of technology and Advisory CPR from 1:45-4:00! We're SO lucky!
Instructional Rounds: Thank you department teams for a GREAT week of learning, reflection and vulnerability! Greater student learning - THIS is why we do what we do! Please continue a deeper dive into your team scaffolding strategies and the impact they have on student learning. Curious what other teams are doing? Math: scaffolds and differentiation, English: scaffolds and feedback, Science: scaffolds and student accountability and response, Social Studies: scaffolds and making inferences.
Campus Love: Campus Love is back and they have a Advisory clean-up schedule ready to go! This week we have Bjorkman & Hanson 11/12, Silas & Kons 11/13. See Millet for any questions.
RT Sticker Distribution: Sacramento Regional Transit (SacRT) is offering free transportation to all students who attend a school within the city of Sacramento from now thru Sep 30, 2020. A sticker will be placed on the back of each student's ID card. The sticker will allow your student to ride free on the entire SacRT network. McGuire will visit advisories in Nov and Dec to distribute the stickers.
6th SOM: The next assembly is Nov 22 in the amp during Advisory.
2020 Book Talk: Select your book by the end of the school day Tue Nov 12. Tentative book talk date is Feb 13.
PARENTS & FAMILIES:
- 2020-2021 Open Enrollment: Do you know someone who wants to be a Pirate? Open enrollment for the 20-21 school year is Tue Oct 15- Fri Nov 15 for all K-9 students. Click here to view application information on our website. Applications are available in the front office and on our website. Current students do not need to fill out an application.
- Giving Tree: Support local families through The Kylie Lillich Giving Tree. The tree will be located in the front office starting Nov 19. Students, families and staff can choose ornaments off the tree to purchase gifts and items of need for local families. All gifts are due back in the office by the end of the day Thur Dec 12th. - Community Chalk Squares: Pirate Lighthouse is inviting all Advisory classes to chalk it up by adding their mission statement on a square near the MS building Oct 29-Dec 13. See Mrs. Carey for details and sign-ups. This is SO exciting!
- Q2 Rally & Sign-ups: Get ready for the Q2 rally Nov 15! Would you like to participate in our rally? Student Govt will have Chromebooks you can sign-up on at lunch 11/12-11/13. Thank you Student Govt!
- Run for Rhett Fall Fitness Program: This is a 6 week training program that leads up to the annual "Run Because You Can" 5k. Mandatory training sessions are on Tue 11/12, 11/19 and 12/3 from 3-4 pm. There are optional workouts Fri after after school on 11/8, 11/15 and 11/22 from 3-4 pm. Sign ups are with Ms. Clark and additional information/forms can be found on the "Pirates Run" tab on the school website.
