Sanford Action Item: Book Review Culture in each classroom
Book Review Presentation in Aaron Chrzaszcz class
Book Review presentations should be a part of each classroom. Students will have read, written, and presented--all important skills and part of APPLYING the reading strategies we have taught. Please hold students to their personal best in your expectations for reading on their level, using appropriate graphic organizers, and responding to their reading to demonstrate a deep understanding of the book.
We are all teacher of the year---great picture of Heidi near student art work that brightens our hallways.
Reader reading and a teacher going to where the reading is (it is not always at the small group table). Ashley Nemo conferring with one of her second grade readers.
Sanford Action Item: Learning Targets referenced at least 3x during a lesson
Learning Target at the beginning of a lesson
Great idea from first grade Student Teacher Katie Vu: She uses her cell phone alarm to go off every 15 minutes during a lesson. The students are so familiar with the strategy that when the alarm goes off, they restate the Learning Target.
One exciting thing this year has been the amount of student Created Products that I have seen.
